With over fifteen years of specialised experience, Rita advises more than fifteen local and international financial institutions, including the Central Bank of Uganda. Her practice covers corporate and personal insolvency, receiverships, liquidations, administration and business restructuring across oil and gas, education, real estate, brewing, agro-processing and general trading.
Her advisory work extends internationally, with engagements in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom, China and the Cayman Islands. She consulted for the Office of the Official Receiver on the implementation of the Insolvency Act, 2011, and served as a principal adviser during the administration of Uganda Telecom Limited, which resulted in a successful business rescue.
Rita advances MSME insolvency frameworks in developing economies through research and publication at international forums, and contributes to the INSOL Future Leaders Programme.
