No cookies. No analytics. No advertising technology. No tracking pixels. No third-party embeds.
What a cookie is, and why most sites need consent
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so that it can recognise your browser on a later request. Cookies that are not strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for generally require your informed consent before they are set.
Most professional services websites set several: an analytics cookie to measure audience, often an advertising cookie, and frequently a set belonging to embedded third parties such as video players, chat widgets or social feeds. Each of those is a disclosure obligation and, in most cases, a consent obligation.
We avoided the obligation by not creating it.
What this site does instead
Pages on this site are generated in advance and served as finished HTML. Delivering them requires no state about you, so no cookie is needed to make the site work.
Typefaces and photographs are served from our own domain rather than from a font or image network, so loading a page on this site does not disclose your visit to any other company.
What we therefore cannot do
Because we collect nothing, we cannot tell you how many people visit this site, which pages are read, or whether a particular visitor has been here before. We accept that trade-off deliberately: a visitor considering whether to bring us a confidential matter should be able to read about us without that being recorded anywhere.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to third-party sites — for example, to a partner's LinkedIn profile, or to the licence terms for a photograph. Those organisations set their own cookies once you arrive on their site, and their policies govern from that point. Following a link is your choice, and nothing is sent to them until you make it.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and operational purposes. This is not cookie-based tracking and is not used to build a profile of you. It is described in our privacy notice.
If this changes
If we later introduce analytics or any other technology that stores or reads information on your device, we will publish the detail here and implement whatever consent mechanism the law requires before it is switched on. We will not add it quietly.
Controlling cookies generally
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies through its settings. Nothing you do there will affect this site, because this site does not rely on them.
