02African Purpose

Culture and Heritage

Designing legitimacy-led solutions that respect stewardship, public accountability and institutional context.

Legitimacy is not decoration on a transaction; in African markets it is often the condition of the transaction proceeding at all. Projects that are technically lawful still fail when communities, custodians or the public do not accept how they were arrived at. Cultural and heritage value is also, increasingly, commercial value — in brands, geographical identity, creative industries and the assets institutions hold in trust.

This purpose puts that reality into the work. It means embedding auditability, disciplined approvals and defensible decision records into mandates from the outset, and treating the protection and commercialisation of African cultural value as a legal discipline rather than a gesture.
