Kabiito Karamagi

Kabiito has spent more than two decades in corporate insolvency, business restructuring, liquidation, commercial litigation, financial-sector regulation and public-sector governance. He is recognised for advising on complex corporate failures, high-value enforcement mandates, institutional restructuring and regulatory disputes.

His practice is anchored in insolvency, restructuring and special situations. He advises on corporate rescue, receivership, administration, liquidation, secured creditor enforcement and distressed business restructuring — typically where creditor exposure is significant, regulatory scrutiny is active, and public-interest considerations are in play. The work demands governance discipline, stakeholder management and practical implementation support alongside legal strategy.

Kabiito has played a significant role in developing Uganda's commercial law framework, participating in the drafting of the country's insolvency law, companies law, the legislation establishing the National Information Technology Authority, and the Partnership Act. That legislative experience gives him an unusually direct appreciation of the frameworks that shape business rescue and creditor protection.
